WSIB Health and Safety Excellence program

WSIB HSEp Overview
Launched in 2020 the WSIB Health & Safety Excellence program (HSEp) recognizes an Employer's and workplace's efforts in safety. This new program integrates the strengths of the previous WSIB Safety Groups, and Workwell programs. The HSEp model provides a clear road map for Ontario businesses to improve their occupational health and safety programs while achieving WSIB recognition. The end goal is to help make Ontario a healthier and safer place to work.
Whether you are just getting started or want to optimize systems and processes you already have in place, the Excellence program can help you reach your goals.

Dunk & Associates - HSEp Approved Provider
Dunk & Associates, an approved WSIB provider, is a company dedicated to advocacy for the Employer; training the supervisor and ensuring every workplace in Ontario has the opportunity to implement a compliant, realistic and manageable safety program affordably. No company is too large or small to be in our Excellence program. We offer many resources to provide you with the skill sets to meet the requirements of the program and your topics to implement into your safety program.
Our role is to:

Support your business in selecting the best occupational health and safety topics for your workplace.

Provide resources to build the competencies in your selected occupational health and safety topics. We do this through:​

Mandatory quarterly webinars where you have the opportunity to network with other members of the program.

Providing resources to assist you with the implementation of your topics into your workplace.

Unlimited topic-related inbound calls to support your program questions.

Review your evidence submissions and identify any gaps or deficiencies.

Assist your firm in correcting and completing these gaps or deficiencies before WSIB validation.
Dunk & Associates has partnered with the WSIB and delivered their programs since 2003.
About the Excellence Program
The WSIB’s HSEp is a program offered in Ontario only which helps Employers manage a system for occupational health and safety in the workplace. This is accomplished through mentoring, pooling of resources and sharing of best practices between members, Dunk & Associates (your Provider), and the WSIB. HSEp members can reduce their workplace injuries and illnesses and achieve rebates based on WSIB premiums paid for the previous year. Our objective at Dunk & Associates is simple – to help you eliminate workplace injuries and illness through the successful completion of your Selected HSEp topics and help you truly create a healthy safe workplace culture.

The Dunk & Associates HSEp services all industries (healthcare, manufacturing, retail, food service, automotive, transportation, construction, municipal services, and more) across Ontario regardless of geographic region. We focus on small to mid-sized businesses and corporate businesses with multiple locations/franchises. We host our HSEp orientation and meetings virtually by webinar making it easy for you to attend and, if requested, we can do site visits anywhere in Ontario for an additional fee.

Key Features

Each firm with a WSIB account number completes an online, one-time assessment on the WSIB Online Services Portal upon registration into the HSEp to determine where your existing Health & Safety program is at.

Employers can choose to work on 1 to 5 health and safety topics in a 12-month period.

Topics provide for customization to your business size and sector – make these topics work for you! Choose your level of entry and the topics which are relevant to you.

Registration is open all year and you can start whenever you want.

Financial and non-financial recognition is based on your firm’s individual topic success.

Dunk offers the support, resources, and networking you need to succeed.
