Ontario JHSC Certification Training

Dunk & Associates is an approved provider by Ontario’s Chief Prevention Officer.

Refresher Distance Learning

This 1-day course is designed to bring JHSC members up-to-date with the latest health and safety legislation, regulations, standards and best practices.

During the course, we:

  • Review rights, duties, and responsibilities of workplace parties, JHSC members and certified members

  • Review the concepts of R.A.C.E. and the hazard assessment tool

  • Describe changes or updates to relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice over the last three years

  • Provide an opportunity for members to share JHSC best practices and to discuss challenges and potential resolutions

All certified members, meaning those who have completed both Part 1 and Part 2 training, must complete refresher training.

For those who have completed JHSC Certification post-March 2016, you require refresher training every 3 years. As per the updated standard made effective July 1, 2026, if you let this timeline lapse, you loose your certification status. However, retake a refresher at anytime to regain your certification. There is no longer a need to request a one-time exemption.

Those certified prior to March 2016 do not require refreshing training and are grandfathered under the new standard. However, refresher training is a great way to keep your knowledge up-to-date and does not impact your grandfathered status.

About Refresher Distance Learning

A schedule of available distance sessions is posted under the training schedule. We do require at least 6 learners in each session, to a maximum of 25.

Please be aware that if you register for a Part 2 session via distance or in-class, you are committed to attending it. Missing a registered webinar will require a $75 administration fee to reschedule. Because numbers are limited, not attending a session takes away the ability for another learner to attend. If you need to cancel, please contact Dunk & Associates within 2 business days of the scheduled session.

Our instructors will lead and guide participants through the learning outcomes. We include discussions, pop quizzes, activities, legislation look-ups, and more. Participants are asked to share stories, experiences and participate in discussions.
