Ontario JHSC Certification Training
PART 1 eLEARNING
Dunk & Associates is proud to deliver CPO approved Part 1 Training in three different delivery formats, including eLearning.
Part 1 Training helps organizations provide basic training to workplace health and safety representatives and fulfill their legal requirements. Dunk & Associates’ Part 1 meets and exceeds the minimum standards set out by the Ministry and Labour, Immigration, Skill, Training and Development (MLITSD) and is applicable to any workplace in Ontario, regardless of sector.
In this training, participants receive a full understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, including rights and responsibilities of the workplace parties and certified representatives, in particular. Equally important, participants learn how to identify, assess, control, and eliminate workplace hazards.
Dunk & Associates' Certification Part 1 is composed of six (6) learning modules and a final evaluation.
Module 1: Foundational Knowledge
Module 2: Safety Committees and How They Work
Module 3: Hazards and Your Health
Module 4: Workplace Inspections
Module 5: Dealing with Hazards
Module 6: Reporting and Investigations
Our approved Part 1 eLearning program can be completed from any internet connection. All Part 1 modules must be fully completed within 30 days from starting the course. Failure to complete them within the designated timeframe will mean the learner must start the program from the beginning.
There are a variety of evaluation methods used throughout Certification. They are both formative and summative. A detailed breakdown of evaluation is provided in your participant manual.
During each module, there are a variety of activities to put your knowledge to the test.
At the end of each module, participants are asked to complete a module quiz to evaluate what has been learned. Don't worry, your score doesn't matter and questions are designed to assist you when you get to your final Part 1 evaluation.
The final Part 1 evaluation is completed when all six Part 1 modules have been completed. This final evaluation consists of 31 multiple-choice and true/false questions. Participants must achieve a score of 75% in order to pass Certification Part 1 and receive their Certificate of Completion. Participants are given instant feedback and are able to complete the test again, if required. When the evaluation and all program components are completed, the participant receives their certificate of successful completion and their information is shared with the MLITSD.
Part 1 eLearning is estimated to take 3.5 hours per module. As this is a self-paced course, time could be longer or shorter depending on the learner speed. Learners must complete all modules within 30 days of registration. An extension cannot be granted. Failure to complete the modules within the 30 day period will result in the learner having to re-start the training from the beginning.
If you select to complete your training via eLearning, you must be able to meet our technical requirements.
